چکیده
Abstract Soft robotic hands can facilitate human–robot interaction by allowing robots to grasp a wide range of objects safely and gently. However, their performance has been hampered lack suitable sensing systems. We present flexible stretchable multi-modal sensor network integrated with soft hand. The design wired sensors on metalized film was embodied through manufacturing approach that uses both UV laser metal ablation plastic cutting simultaneously create electrode conductive wires in Kirigami pattern into single network. evaluated the interconnects measuring an impedance change each external stimulus showed are not substantially affected stretching With sheet wrapped around gripper, we demonstrated several scenarios, including warm burrito for food handling, baby doll medical applications.

Robot programming through multi-modal interaction
As robots enter the human environment and come in contact with inexperienced users, they need to be able to interact with users in a multi-modal fashion—keyboard and mouse are no longer acceptable as the only input modalities. Humans should be able to communicate with robots using methods as similar as possible to the concise, rich, and diverse means they use to communicate with one another. Th...
متن کاملSoft, stretchable, epidermal sensor with integrated electronics and photochemistry for measuring personal UV exposures
Excessive ultraviolet (UV) radiation induces acute and chronic effects on the skin, eye and immune system. Personalized monitoring of UV radiation is thus paramount to measure the extent of personal sun exposure, which could vary with environment, lifestyle, and sunscreen use. Here, we demonstrate an ultralow modulus, stretchable, skin-mounted UV patch that measures personal UV doses. The patch...

متن کاملMulti-modal human robot interaction for map generation
This paper describes an interface for multi modal human robot interaction, which enables people to introduce a newcomer robot about different attributes of objects and places in the room through speech commands and hand gestures. Robot makes an environment map of the room based on knowledge learned through communication with human and uses this map for navigation. The developed system consists ...
متن کاملA Multi-modal Approach for Natural Human-Robot Interaction
We present a robot that is able to interact with people in a natural, multi-modal way by using both speech and gesture. The robot is able to track people, process speech and understand language. To track people and recognize gestures, the robot uses an RGB-D sensor (e.g., a Microsoft Kinect). To recognize speech, the robot uses a cloudbased service. To understand language, the robot uses a prob...
